No wonder I never heard of this game because the proposition is totally shit. It took him 80% of the video to mention this huge catch too. Hard pass. This game is not like Total War, its more like Half War.

overpriced for what it is

I had a great campaign as Normandy. When FoG Empires first came out I struggled with it and gave up early on but went back to it later and had a great time. Kingdoms was on my wishlist as soon as it was announced. There's more mechanics compared to Empires but the gameplay is essentially the same. Both games lose a lot if you don't engage with importing the battles.

Yeah, I will stick to my Medieval 2 total war modded.

Ever since Rome 2 (included) TW games felt in campaign really bad. I loved the Rome, Shogun, Empire systems. All of these worked, were fun, interesting. Ever since then it is basically same system, which feels soulless .

I used the immersive mod pack. I'm not really a modder myself so it was really nice having someone else able to do it for me. I did add some extra stuff like equipment physics, hair physics for npcs and a few combat/idle/run sprint and jump animations.

Having to own a separate game and open it up feels like a major misstep. Would've loved for manual battles to be playable in Kingdoms.

The game is probably good, as the older entrances in the series were. But for me, it suffers from the same problem as its predecessors. Namely, the idle animations of the small human figures both on the stategic and the tactical maps look as if they all are suffering from Huntington's or something. They can't stand still for a second! To see what I'm talking about, check the video from @1:50 and on. The archers along the lower edge of the map are the worst. On the tactical map where they stand in groups they are unbearable. For me, this constant fidgeting is a huge eye sore.

I have played this game for over a hundred hours now and I have greatly enjoyed it. There are some major issues that need to be addressed by the Slitherine team however. There must be a better way to reduce disorder in your provinces. Just try playing the Byzantine Empire. Even more significant is the inability to retreat from a battle. I would also like to see some type of mechanic to manage your dynasty - at least the ability to designate your heir. Still overall this is a great little game with an amazing amount of replayability. I would definitely like to see some changes, but I still highly recommend the game,

Isn't this like the other games where if you want to play battles you have to export them? I'd love a game in this series where the battles are integrated, but according to the steam page it's like the other games and battles just aren't worth doing that way IMO.

Every time i watch a game that has great campaign maps and mechanics like this i just wish one thing….TOTAL WAR BATTLES!

gotta say that music in old total wars were absolute banger. not that they got worse but I love hearing them soundtracks using various mods.but speeches from medieval 2 is simply top :D probably still my favorite game from series.

I think it depends on the game preference. Because I really prefer a more open world more collectable-focused game that also had an ok amount of story which was what Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was.

This is the worst ff i have played. And i have played ff13😅😂 I can see why people like what is going on between the characters and like the music, but the gameplay is awful.

People find hearts of iron 4 difficult? Dont get me wrong, is not fortnite easy to learn, but maybe is because i played it for a long time, that i dont find it a difficult to learn game. Is still challenge, but i never thought about how difficult are the mechanics

As a reenactor doing mostly, brink of 14/15ct I must say this is gorgeous! The lack of blood effects and cavalry charges makes it look quite like this kind of hobby :D

Haven't played this mod since back in 2019. I remember it being pretty difficult as I wasn't used to population mechanics

Better is not necessarily good. Every battle become a big blob, and the troop movement system needing one of your limited generals is still troublesome and immersion breaking. This game went from 3/10 to 5/10.

Honestly CA should just focus on historical games again, instead of this fantasy bs. Bring back those legendary games and add the ''duel system'' again. It all went downhill after units would just stab each other every 5 seconds. Fights aren't even fun to watch up close anymore... Bring back those legendary total war shogun 2 fights!

As much as I understand the criticism of TSS, I feel like people are blowing it out of proportion. The in between hub world has been a thing since Lego Harry Potter, so it is a fairly old mechanic and a good one at that. If you prefer TCS, then play that game. It has a pretty decent port on Steam. TSS does not disappoint and there are some pretty huge battles in space, the one he conveniently selected was a side mission. Certain areas have larger battles. All in all, TSS is a massive achievement. I prefer this game over TCS any day. There were so many missing characters in the original games, and the majority of the levels took me about 5 to 10 minutes. The other issue in the original game is that in the space battles, you were generally placed on a fixed pathway. Not to mention no Dexters Diner in TCS.

Anyone remember when you bought a total war and you had access to all the the factions from the get go without paying more for dlc factions? Pepperidge farms remembers.
